The death has occurred of Kaila Jefferson, Jacksonville, Florida. The 21-year-old was fatally shot inside an apartment on Collins Road on April 24, 2026.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to an apartment complex near Retreat Boulevard following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, Jefferson was found inside an apartment suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Investigators from the JSO Homicide Unit launched an immediate investigation. During the early stages, 19-year-old Isaiah Micaleb Robinson, who was detained at the scene, was identified as a suspect. Following evidence review and interviews, he was arrested and charged with manslaughter. He is currently being held at the Duval County Jail.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting, and the case remains under active investigation.
